About PEGASUS
PEGASUS was funded in 2004 by the NHS Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme acting on behalf of the National
Screening Committee to develop education and training for health professionals involved in antenatal and newborn screening.
Professor Joe Kai, Chair in Primary Care at the University of Nottingham, led a collaboration of four NHS and academic institutions in the development and implementation of PEGASUS resources:

Peer review of front-line professional resources
PEGASUS resources for front-line professionals were peer reviewed by approximately 30 individuals which included advisors to the NHS Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme, Regional Screening Teams, clinicians, laboratory fora, academics, consumer and voluntary groups.
